Fun days at Schneider House of Hope!! Girl Scout Jodie Pierce and her mother Jeannie came to share arts and crafts (and snacks) with our “Children” of all ages. They made fleece pillows, sidewalk chalk, colored and made homemade ice cream in a baggie. Everyone had a good time. Jodie is doing this as part of her gold award project for Girl Scouts. Jodie plans several more “camp” sessions for […]
Girl Scout Troop 32388 helped painting bowls for IHN/Schneider House of Hope’s first “Empty Bowl Soup Dinner and Silent Auction” to be held on Friday, October 7th. The event will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at Faith Community Church at 100 Country Club in Xenia. Please come and support the homeless in our community.
It was a busy week packing lunches and running campers to Camp Jabez but the kids had a blast. They made new friends, rode horses, fished (Lexi caught the biggest catfish ever) although Denver probably caught the most, they rode the “zip-line”, walked in the “creek”, learned a Bible lesson each day and many other experiences that they will remember for life. The girls and helpers have made 1,200 jars (400 jars of each recipe) to be sold. This is such an easy way for churches, youth groups, women’s groups, small bible study groups, etc. to participate and support the mission of IHN. We would deliver the cases of jars (12 jars in a case) to the churches or individuals with the expectation that whoever takes on the task of ‘selling’ jars should have change on hand […]
We had a great time at our Coordinator/Volunteer meeting last night. We had 39 people in attendance. Several Board Members and the IHN Staff were in attendance. We had a great time of fellowship and made some new friends. Sue Mortsolf and Jan Schneider made some fantastic snacks. Sue and Jan also provided their recipes in a packet as gifts for all in attendance. Gail Simpson had a great presentation to help us understand the […]
IHN Ambassadors Needed! We need your help! The IHN Board and our staff are asked to speak at many functions during the year—days and evenings. It is hard to say ‘no’ to folks whose interest is in helping our clients and understanding our mission. Like our clients, we have to make hard choices and sometimes we must say ‘no’ when we really would rather say ‘yes!’ You can help by […]

At the end of the year you will have contributed to one full (12-hour) day’s operation and provided much needed volunteer support. Perhaps this is a […]
