An estimated 100 runners and walkers pounded the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail on Saturday, June 6, 2015 to support the 4th Annual IHN 5K Run/Walk, a fund raising event for the Schneider House of Hope/Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greene County.

The 5K is a fun run/walk for families and people of all ages. It should be noted that Queen of Apostles Community had the largest contingent of runners and walkers and is proud that Steve Andrews, one of its members, was the top runner of the race. First Church of Christ in Fairborn also had a large group of runners/walkers who supported the event. Hopefully next year, more churches will form group of runners and walkers to represent their congregation. Next year’s event will be held on Saturday of June 4, 2016 so it is not too early to form a team and start training.

Twenty-six sponsors from local businesses, families and churches, financially supported this year’s event. This sponsorship helped with the cost of running the event and also added to the funds generated for the shelter’s operating expenses. Sponsorship is also a good way to advertise your support for this important ministry that assists families in need.
